Cutting
Cut from the Background Fabric 18 rectangles 3 ½” x 1 ½”
Cut from Fabric A 36 rectangles 3 ½” x 1 1/2”
Cut from Fabric B 18 rectangles 3 ½” x 1 1/2”
Cut from Fabric C 36 rectangles 3 ½” x 1 1/2”
OR
Cut each fabric into 1 ½” strips
Block
Sew rectangles together into 2 sets
of units. 18 units made with rectangles of
Fabric B, Fabric A and Fabric
B together in that order.
And 18 units made with rectangles of
Fabric C, Background Fabric and Fabric C together in that order.
Pressing seams as you go.
To make a block sew 4 units, 2 of
each type, together as shown above
Make 9 blocks
Trim each block to 6 ½” square
Sew the row together
OR
Sew together strips of Fabric B,
Fabric A and Fabric B in that order
Then sew together strips of Fabric
C, Background Fabric and Fabric C
Pressing seams as you go.
Cross cut the sewn strips by 3 1/2”
to make units

To make a block sew 4 units, 2 of
each type, together as shown above
Make 9 blocks
Trim each block to 6 ½” square
Sew the row together.
