I recently discovered...
...Book Garnish
And I thought you might like it too. There are so many fabulous ideas you could make with your kids or grandkids.
It combines books with a craft idea for example you could read The Spiderwick Chroncles together
then make a cute birdhouse.

Very wicked, but yum, yum, yum!
I made this yesterday so I can guarantee this fabulous recipe works. It makes a fabulous last minute gift. This is from one of my favourite food blogs The English Kitchen and the recipe is on the 8th December 13 post.

Here's another lovely free stitchery. This time it's a series of the cutest owls. Sorry I just can't get them to appear the right way around.
They are generously shared at http://irenabatik.ru/wp-content/uploads/2013/03/sovy-sablony.jpg. Don't forget to hit that translate button if you don't read Russian.

On the way to the fire victims
Recently NOTYQ sent fifty quilts to help the fire victims in NSW. Here they are setting off on their journey.
Huge thanks to everyone who helped make these much needed community quilts.
Have you been using the NOTYQ online Library Catalogue? If not you should give it a try. Chris wrote some easy to follow instructions in the July 2013 newsletter or click HERE to see them online.

Our clever Anita
Recently Anita was approached by Melbourne designer, Michelle Rae to collaborate on her entry in the Melbourne Cup Fashions on the Field.
Here's what Anita wrote about the project
We collaborated on the design which reflected the Flemington Roses, feathery fascinators and the blooms of spring. Here is bodice fabric that was quilted with my hand guided longarm quilting machine. The design graded in size down the piece from very tiny at the top to fairly small at the bottom. This was one occasion when ‘quilted to death’ was the way to go.
Isn't it brilliant and here is the finished garment.
Pop over to Anita's blog, Hillside Quilting to read more.
